COLLECTION: platta & matta [tiles & rugs]

These simple geometric line and square repetitions are a detail of a more elaborate pattern, Socken [village] that I am still working on developing a final collection from. The undulating linework in the shape of square tiles (representing the cultivated patches of ground in the village), are combined with hand drawn lines for stripes reminiscent of “trasmattor” [rag rugs] that covers the floors of every traditional Swedish cottage home. Neutral and natural color combinations make them easy to use in textiles and print for interiors.
