COLLECTION: fågel på tråd [bird on a wire]

As a child, my mother often pointed out interesting patterns in nature to me. One of them was the irregular “dots” of birds sitting on layers of telephone wires along the country roads where I grew up. With the backgrounds of the changing skies they form and interesting repetition in form, but a seemingly random repeat in spacing. Though my birds are mostly copies of the same shape, I enjoyed creating their individual personalities through their positions and interactions with one another. The colorful versions are a nod to Scandinavian folk tapestries and embroidery.
